Your role as a Research Engineer at Movella

As a Research Engineer, you will be responsible for applied research, and development of prototypes for current and future products of Movella. You will be part of the Technology team and report to the Technology Manager. You will be based in Enschede, the Netherlands with possibility of hybrid working.


Key challenges:

  • Thinking out-of-the-box, integrating diverse technologies and knowledge of various fields to deliver best-in-class solutions for sensor fusion technology.
  • Absorb wealth of knowledge from a multi-disclipinary team of researchers.
  • Leveraging your versatile knowledge, craft algorithm prototypes and in collaboration with domain experts collaborate on proof-of-concept software and hardware development to demonstrate the same.
  • Capability to understand application requirements and to translate them into state-of-the-art algorithm solutions.
  • Active role in identifying emerging research trends in sensor fusion, robotics, and machine learning to facilitate motion tracking and analysis.

Job requirements

Movella is looking for a versatile Research Engineer. Someone who thinks outside the box, strives to gain knowledge in different domains, and apply the knowledge to produce quick workable solutions.

  • MSc in robotics, physics, electrical engineering, applied math, or related field, with a few years of applied experience.
  • Strong mathematical/analytical background and problem-solving skills.
  • Fair understanding of more than one of the following fields: statistical methods, sensor fusion, Kalman filtering, machine learning and signal processing.
  • Excellent knowledge of Python, and sufficient experience in C++.
  • Team player with excellent oral and written communication skills in English
  • Self-driven, good organizational, communication and interpersonal skills, decision making and problem-solving thinking
