Your assignment at Movella

Most of the runners collect and get feedback on biomechanical parameters during their running. However, most runners will find it difficult to interpret these parameters. As a consequence, despite the large scale data collection, feedback in running is not as effective as it could be. 
Animations representing the run style of a runner in combination with potential improvements are thought to be an effective way to communicate feedback in running.

The goal of this project is to create a model to animate the running styles. The run style animations will be based on measurements with our MVN- suit.

Key challenges:

• Capture data of runners when they run the different running styles
• Create a model that can change according to the input parameters speed, step frequency and stance time.

Please note that you actually need to be enrolled in a school or university in order to be considered for an internship.

We are particularly eager to find interns with these skills and expertise:

• Bachelor or master student of Biomedical/biomechanical Engineering,
• Human movement sciences, or similar with interest in sensor technology
• Availability for an internship for at least 3 months
• Good programming skills in Matlab, Python, or any other high-level script language to analyze the data
• Practical skills in collecting and analyzing biomechanical data
